Castelli International School

The school is guided by the principle "When I do, I understand," prioritising experiential and collaborative group learning over a sole reliance on textbooks. Sustainability is a core value, with students actively participating in the "4 R's" (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, Reinvent) and an "earth to table" programme that integrates academic disciplines with food production and the arts.

The school offers an international curriculum for students, spanning primary through lower secondary levels (Grades 6–8). The academic programme integrates core subjects with Italian and French language instruction, as well as music and the arts. Secondary students participate in the Model United Nations programme, engaging in global issues alongside international peers in cities such as Rome, New York, and Boston.

Teachers provide individualised instruction when necessary to ensure every student receives appropriate support. The faculty, which includes mother-tongue teachers for Italian and French, focuses on nurturing students' personal development and perseverance. Additionally, specific support is provided to international students to develop their Italian language competencies.

The school maintains a rolling admissions policy, accepting applications throughout the year and summer. Prospective families are encouraged to apply by January preceding the intended year of entry due to limited availability. The process includes an informal interview for primary applicants, while lower secondary students (Grades 6–8) must complete a written evaluation in English, mathematics, and Italian, alongside an interview. Applicants unable to visit in person must submit an admission form, a teacher reference letter, and their last two report cards.

The school operates from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the academic year and summer.

Located in the Roman countryside, the campus is situated in a former farmhouse and features spacious grounds that facilitate both indoor and outdoor learning. Key facilities include a library housed in a former wine cellar, a music room converted from a historic greenhouse, a football field, and the "Paul Magee" educational greenhouse. The school also incorporates sustainable infrastructure, such as solar energy production, rainwater harvesting systems, and an ecological house.
