Saffron Valley Collegiate

Saffron Valley Collegiate is guided by the core values of 'Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Safe,' which shape all classroom and extracurricular interactions. The school’s mission is to provide a personalised educational experience that identifies and responds to the unique circumstances of each individual, aiming to reengage students with education and help them become confident, successful learners. It prioritises a nurturing environment, particularly for students who have experienced significant gaps in their previous education.

The school delivers a broad and balanced curriculum across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), with provisions located at multiple sites including SVC East, KS4 North, and KS4 South. The academic programme includes subjects such as English, Mathematics, Science, Art, Humanities, Physical Education, and Healthy Eating. Additionally, the school provides Personal, Social, Health, and Economic Education (PSHE) and Relationship and Sex Education (RSHE), alongside career advice and guidance.

The school provides extensive support through an AP Taskforce, which includes an Assistant Psychologist, a Family Support Worker, and a Mental Health Team. The Mental Health Team offers various therapeutic interventions, such as creative therapies, EMDR, EFT (tapping), bereavement therapy, and talking therapy. Additionally, the school employs a Speech and Language Therapist (SaLT) and Youth Workers to address the diverse needs of its students.

Saffron Valley Collegiate operates as an alternative provision setting, working closely with students, families, and home schools to facilitate successful transitions and reintegration. The school employs a collaborative, multi-agency approach through its AP Taskforce to ensure a needs-led, whole-child transition process. Students are expected to adhere to Joint Council for Qualifications (JCQ) regulations for all examinations.

The 2025-26 academic year includes an Autumn Term (1 September – 19 December 2025), a Spring Term (5 January – 27 March 2026), and a Summer Term (13 April – 17 July 2026). The school schedule incorporates several INSET days and standard half-term breaks, with the academic year concluding on 17 July 2026.
