The Sultan's School

Established in 1977, the school aims to nurture ethical and intellectual leadership qualities in students to help them succeed in a rapidly changing world. It balances high academic standards with individualized learning, integrating Omani and Islamic culture with an international perspective. The school emphasizes the development of critical and creative thinking, service to others, and the mastery of both Arabic and English.

The school offers a bilingual curriculum from KG1 to Year 13. Kindergarten follows the UK Early Years’ Foundation Stage (EYFS) and the Omani National programme, while Primary (KG1–Year 6) utilizes the Cambridge Primary Curriculum alongside the Omani National programme. Middle School English instruction is based on the National Curriculum of England, with Arabic following Ministry of Education requirements. Years 10 and 11 offer the IGCSE, and Years 12 and 13 provide the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).

The school maintains a 96% IB pass rate and prepares students for entry into the world’s leading universities. Graduates are expected to be versatile, critical thinkers with an international perspective, equipped to act as responsible global citizens. Students consistently achieve high grades in IGCSE examinations, reflecting the school's high academic expectations.

The school provides personalized support and guidance to help students achieve their goals, ensuring that no student is denied opportunities. Professional development for staff includes mandatory annual safeguarding and child protection training to maintain a supportive environment. The school accepts students from KG1 through Year 12, with graduation in Year 13. The application process requires a non-refundable 30 OMR fee and submission of documents including academic reports, medical records, and identification. Following a review by the Head of Primary or Secondary, families may receive a confirmed offer, a waiting list placement, or an invitation for an assessment. Upon acceptance, a 300 OMR admission fee and the first term's tuition are required to secure the placement.

The school operates Sunday through Thursday, from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Admissions for the 2026-2027 academic year are currently open.

The school is situated on a 250-acre, garden-like campus that includes a state-of-the-art stadium, a modern boarding house, and a renovated mosque. Academic and creative facilities feature an auditorium, a Design and Technology (DT) lab, dedicated computer labs for each school phase, and a modern cafeteria. Classrooms are equipped with interactive whiteboards, and the campus also houses a school shop for uniforms and supplies.

The school offers a range of extracurricular activities (ECAs) that typically run from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM, with senior activities extending until 4:30 PM. Students participate in STEM competitions like Formula Ethara, which involves designing and racing model cars. Additionally, older students engage in the CAS (Creativity, Activity, Service) and International Award programmes.
