The academic program spans Grades 8–12, utilizing the IB Middle Years Programme for junior students and the British Columbia curriculum with Advanced Placement (AP) options for senior students. Students may take up to 10 courses per year through a semester system, with an optional 11th course available in July. Specialized pathways include the STEM Academy and the Innovative Media Academy, which focus on practical, real-world skill development.

Graduates earn the British Columbia Dogwood Diploma and are accepted into universities worldwide, including institutions such as the University of Toronto, UBC, and the University of Waterloo. The school maintains a partnership with the University of Toronto and reports that over 98% of graduates receive university offers, with millions of dollars in scholarships awarded annually.

The school provides personalized academic guidance through school counsellors, boarding advisors, and mentor teachers. Specialized Transitional English courses are available to help students build academic language skills and accelerate their progress toward senior-level coursework. Additionally, boarding students receive tutoring support in study halls four evenings per week.

The school accepts students from Grade 8 to 12, aged 13 to 18, with a recommended minimum 75% average from the previous three years of schooling. The admissions process includes an interview and assessments in numeracy and literacy, and international students must complete an English placement test upon arrival. Applications are accepted for September and February intakes, with auxiliary admissions in November, April, and July.

The school operates on a semester system, with Fall and Spring terms and an optional July session. The academic year includes scheduled breaks, such as a two-week winter holiday and a spring break, with boarding facilities remaining open during these periods to provide programming. Important dates include orientation, midterm evaluations, and final examination periods at the end of each semester.

Located on a waterfront campus in North Vancouver, the school features two gymnasiums, an indoor swimming pool, a turf field, and an auditorium. Academic and support facilities include a library, a STEM lab, two science labs, and two cafeterias. Boarding students reside in on-site dormitories with rooms housing 2–4 students, shared bathrooms, laundry facilities, and common areas for socializing and study.

These activities are available daily before and after school, as well as on Saturday mornings, and include opportunities for volunteering and leadership development. The school also offers specialized Real World Academies, such as the STEM Academy and the Innovative Media Academy, which provide hands-on, project-based learning.
