Michelangelo International Elementary School

The school offers a 50/50 bilingual curriculum from Kindergarten to Grade 6, where English and French instruction alternate on a weekly basis, while mathematics is taught daily. The curriculum also includes specialized instruction in physical education, technology, art, music, and movement.

Michelangelo International Elementary School welcomes students from Pre-Kindergarten (K4) to Grade 6. To qualify for English instruction in Quebec public schools, applicants must meet eligibility criteria under the Charter of the French Language and obtain a Certificate of Eligibility from the English Montreal School Board (EMSB). Families must provide documentation including the child's long-form birth certificate, proof of Canadian citizenship, and proof of Quebec residence. The school also accepts international students, including those residing in Quebec on temporary work or study visas.

The school operates on a standard academic year, with the first day of school typically occurring in early September. The academic schedule follows a 5-day week, with instruction alternating weekly between English and French. The school provides a detailed annual calendar, including important dates, holidays, and events such as Curriculum Night.

Located on a quiet residential street, the school features modern classrooms equipped with wireless internet and Prowise boards. Specialized learning spaces include a STEAM Makerspace, a computer lab with EV3 robotics equipment, and a library with technician services. For physical activity and arts, the campus provides a gymnasium with a stage, as well as a large, secure playground surrounded by a municipal park with outdoor sports fields.

Students are invited to participate in a variety of school-based and off-site activities throughout the year. Extra-curricular offerings include events such as a Halloween Haunted House, Breakfast with Santa, and a Spring Fling. The school also maintains a focus on environmental and community engagement, such as an on-site honey harvesting program.
