Programmes

Admissions

Prince Alfred College offers enrolment from the Early Learning Centre (ages 2–5) through to Year 12. Prospective families are encouraged to attend scheduled morning tours of the Preparatory or Secondary Schools, or the Early Learning Centre, to observe the school in action. Personal tours are available for families living interstate or overseas, or for those with specific circumstances. The enrolment process includes an online application, and families may use the school's Year of Entry calculator to plan their son's journey.

Calendar

The school operates on a four-term academic year. In 2026, Term 1 commences on 27 January for Year 7 and Year 12 students, with the full term running from 28 January to 2 April. Subsequent terms follow a similar structure, with Term 2 running from 21 April to 26 June, Term 3 from 21 July to 25 September, and Term 4 from 12 October to 4 December. The calendar includes scheduled exeat dates and public holidays throughout the year.

About the campus

The main campus in Kent Town spans 9.8 hectares and includes the ANZAC Hall auditorium, the Eric Freak Memorial Chapel, and the John Dunning Sports Centre. The RED Centre provides a flexible sports and health facility featuring a stadium and swimming pools. Boarding students are accommodated in a purpose-built facility opened in 2019, which offers twin-share and single rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Additionally, the school operates the Wambana campus at Point Turton for a Year 9 Extended Stay Program and the Scotts Creek Outdoor Centre near Morgan for adventure and aquatic activities.

Co-curriculars

    David commenced as the 12th Headmaster of Prince Alfred College in 2022, coming from Newington College in Sydney where he was the Deputy Headmaster and Head of the Senior Campus. He has extensive experience in boys' education, having previously served as Head of Senior School at St Leonard’s College and in various leadership roles at Geelong Grammar. David holds a B.Ed, M.Ed, and a Graduate Diploma in Business Management.
