The Australian International School Malaysia (AISM) is the longest-established Australian international school in the country, providing a world-class education for students from early years to pre-university. It is owned and operated by the Taylor’s Education Group.

The school is a certified Visible Learning institution, which empowers students to take ownership of their learning through clear goals, feedback, and active reflection. The educational culture emphasizes intellectual character, wellbeing, and the development of future-ready skills.

Programmes

The school follows the Australian Curriculum across all stages: the Early Learning Centre (ages 3–5), Junior School (ages 5–11), and Middle & Senior School (ages 11–18). The Pre-University programme for Years 11 and 12 leads to the New South Wales Higher School Certificate (NSW HSC), which is assessed through a 50/50 model of school-based assignments and external examinations. The curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking, collaboration, and resilience.

Learning support

The school offers English as an Additional Language (EAL) support within the mainstream curriculum for students aged 11 to 15. Additionally, an Academic English Pathway (AEP) programme provides intensive preparation to build the language and academic skills required for international school success. A full-time student counsellor is available to support the mental and emotional wellbeing of students.

Admissions

The school provides an online application process and encourages prospective families to book a tour or attend an Open Day. Admission is conditional upon the student and their parent(s) or legal guardian holding valid visas issued by the Malaysian Immigration Department, and the school assists families with the necessary documentation for Ministry of Education and Immigration submissions. Siblings of currently enrolled students are eligible for specific fee discounts and waivers.

Calendar

The academic year at AISM runs from January to December and is divided into four terms. Tuition fees are invoiced on a quarterly basis, with the exception of Year 12, which consists of three terms.

About the campus

Located on a 7.5-acre campus in Mines Resort City, the school features purpose-built facilities including science and technology labs, a library with over 8,000 books, and an air-conditioned gymnasium. Arts and performance spaces include two art studios, a Blackbox Theatre, and a 450-seat auditorium. Sports facilities comprise a 25-metre swimming pool, an all-weather multipurpose court, and an outdoor sports field. The campus also provides a dedicated Senior Study Centre, on-site health services with qualified nurses, and 24-hour security with double-gated access.
