Singapore International School (SIS) @ Van Phuc

The school's educational philosophy blends Eastern values with a global education, embedding these tenets within its Singapore and Cambridge curricula to develop future global citizens. It aims to nurture students to become critical thinkers, technologically literate, confident communicators, academic achievers, and active, responsible citizens. Additionally, the school incorporates outdoor education to foster personal growth, self-confidence, and leadership skills.

The school offers two main academic pathways: the International Programme, which runs from Year 1 through Cambridge AS and A Levels, and the Integrated Programme, which begins at Kindergarten and extends to Year 9 before transitioning students into the International Programme. The Integrated Programme provides Vietnamese students with the national curriculum taught by local teachers alongside International English, Social Studies, Physical Education, Music, and ICT taught by foreign educators. Early years education is provided through the KinderWorld International Kindergarten (KIK) for children aged 18 months to 6 years.

Students at the school prepare for internationally recognized qualifications, including Singapore's iPSLE examination, Cambridge IGCSE, and Cambridge AS and A Levels. The school maintains partnerships and articulation pathways with global institutions, such as Elmhurst University in the United States and Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland, to facilitate university progression.

Enrolment is open to both foreign and Vietnamese students, with placement determined by age, class vacancies, and placement test results. Class sizes are capped at 12 to 25 students for kindergarten and a maximum of 25 for primary and secondary classes, with priority given to siblings of current students. Required application documents include passport copies, birth certificates, previous academic transcripts, a health check certificate, and vaccination records for kindergarten applicants.

The academic year consists of 40 school weeks divided into four terms, beginning in mid-August and concluding in mid-July. Students receive scheduled breaks between each term, including a two-week break over the Christmas period, local national holidays, and a five-week summer break at the end of the fourth term in July.

Located in the Van Phuc Diplomatic Compound, the campus features two main buildings that were renovated and refurbished in 2019. The facilities include an air-conditioned gymnasium, a library, ICT labs, a swimming pool, a small soccer field, and a multipurpose hall. Additionally, the school provides specialized learning spaces, including a new International Programme wing and dedicated rooms for Music, STEM, and Art/Craft.

The school offers extra-curricular activities and outdoor education programmes, notably partnering with Outward Bound Vietnam to conduct challenging outdoor expeditions for upper primary, secondary, and high school students. These programmes are designed to build teamwork, perseverance, and leadership skills. Students also have opportunities to participate in milestone events and collaborative leadership programmes through a partnership with Hwa Chong Institution in Singapore.
