Sunrise English Private School is a pioneer institution in Abu Dhabi, established in 1988 to provide quality education to expatriate Indian children. It is an 'A Band' accredited school by ADEK that follows the CBSE curriculum.

Programmes

The school provides inclusive support in accordance with CBSE mandates for students experiencing learning difficulties. Such students are referred to the school counselor and may receive remedial classes from a Special Education teacher. Furthermore, exam papers can be adapted to meet the specific needs of these learners.

Admissions

Registration for the 2026-2027 academic year is open from 10th November 2025 to 20th December 2025. Applicants for KG1 must be 4 years old by 31st March 2026, while KG2 and Grade 1 applicants must be 5 and 6 years old respectively by the same date. Admissions for Grade 2 and above require a transfer certificate and final report card from the previous school, duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the relevant embassy. Required documentation includes a registration form, photographs, Emirates ID copies, vaccination records, and proof of residence.

Calendar

The school operates on a three-term fee collection schedule in April, October, and January. Office hours are Monday to Thursday from 07:00 am to 3:00 pm, Friday from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm, and Saturday from 8:00 am to 11:00 am for accounts. School hours for Kindergarten are 07:30 am to 11:30 am, while Grades 1 to 12 attend from 07:30 am to 2:00 pm, with early dismissal at 11:30 am on Fridays.

About the campus

The campus features specialized learning environments including Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and Computer Science laboratories. Students have access to separate libraries, a sports clinic, and an organic farm. The school also provides facilities for robotics and various arts-based activities.

    Dr. Thakur Mulchandani has served as the School Director/Principal at Sunrise School, Abu Dhabi, since 2013. He has extensive experience in educational leadership, including roles as a moderator and examiner for the Maharashtra State Board, and previously worked with the Ryan and Rahul groups of schools. He is also the Chairman of the UAE Sahodaya Schools Complex and has received numerous awards, including the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Outstanding Principal Award.
