The school’s purpose is to challenge students to make meaningful contributions to the world, guided by the values of being curious, inclusive, generous, and responsible. It aims to foster an inclusive culture where every voice contributes to school life and students are empowered to lead their own learning. The school emphasizes holistic development, building self-awareness, self-esteem, and leadership skills to prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

The school follows the IB Learning Continuum, beginning with the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) for Years 7–9. Students then progress to (I)GCSE courses in Years 10 and 11. In the senior years (12–13), students may pursue the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) or the IB Careers-related Programme (CP).

The school provides a nurturing environment supported by a dedicated wellbeing system. This includes Heads and Deputy Heads of Year, wellbeing counsellors, social workers, and child protection officers. Peer supporters are also trained to offer academic and wellbeing assistance to fellow students.

Admissions are managed centrally through the English Schools Foundation (ESF). Prospective families can attend parent information seminars and scheduled campus tours, which are available on a first-come, first-served basis. General study enquiries can be directed to the school, while specific application and placement questions are handled by the ESF admissions team.

The school operates on a standard academic year, with specific term dates, event calendars, and parent-teacher conference schedules published annually. A five-day 'Explorer Week' is held during the year, during which regular lessons are suspended to allow students to participate in a broad range of experiential activities.

Located in Fo Tan, the campus accommodates 1,250 students and features a comprehensive range of facilities including art, drama, music, film, design, and computer science studios. Science and food technology laboratories are available alongside a library and learning centre, school hall, canteen, and senior school centre. The sports complex includes an indoor swimming pool, two gymnasiums, a fitness studio, a climbing and bouldering wall, outdoor basketball courts, and a rooftop pitch.

The school offers a wide-ranging activities programme designed to help students discover interests, build community, and develop life skills. Governance structures include a Student Council, Sports Council (supporting the SABRES teams), and an Environmental Council. Additional opportunities include a Media Team, peer mentorship, Model United Nations, and service learning projects, such as the Year 9 Community Project and IB CAS requirements.
