Small World Christian Kindergarten

Small World Christian Kindergarten is a Christian school dedicated to whole-child education, aiming to help children grow in wisdom, stature, favor with God, and favor with man. Its core values include servant leadership, community, and being Christ-centered, with a mission to cultivate individuals of character, compassion, courage, and competence.

The school offers a Junior Kindergarten (K1) and Senior Kindergarten (K2) programme for children aged 2 to 5, based on the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC) and a biblical foundation. The curriculum is structured around three dimensions—personal, international, and academic—and includes a research-based Mandarin programme that utilizes a storybook approach. Each class is staffed by two qualified early years teachers, supported by learning assistants.

The school maintains an inclusive environment by utilizing simple accommodations, modifications to the curriculum, and specific instructional strategies. A dedicated Learning Support Team works in collaboration with the principal and classroom teachers to provide targeted expertise and in-class support for children with individual needs.

Small World Christian Kindergarten operates a rolling admissions policy, accepting children year-round as space becomes available. The application process involves submitting an online application, followed by a play-based interview session where staff observe the child. Priority admission is granted to children currently attending other Generations Christian Education schools, those with siblings already enrolled or graduated from a Generations school, and children of alumni.

The school year runs from August to June and is divided into three terms. The daily schedule offers a morning session from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and an afternoon session from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Located in the Mid-Levels, the school is housed in a renovated Victorian brick complex that formerly served as a British military hospital. The campus features a large, enclosed outdoor playground and is currently developing a 'Reading Tree Library' and a 'Sensorial Garden' to further enhance the learning environment. A private bus service with bus mothers is available to transport students across Hong Kong Island.

The school emphasizes family involvement as a core component of its community, offering parenting courses and various volunteer opportunities. Students engage in daily unstructured outdoor play in the school's leafy playground, where they also participate in activities like planting seeds to learn about the growing cycle.
