St. Thomas High School

St. Thomas High School is dedicated to fostering excellence in the intellectual, personal, and social domains within a safe, nurturing, and respectful environment. As an IB World School, it aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable, and caring individuals who demonstrate intercultural understanding and respect. The school offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) for students aged 11 to 16. The curriculum integrates various subjects, including arts (drama, music, and visual arts), and utilizes the ManageBac digital platform for communication and academic management. Students are required to maintain process journals in arts subjects and complete a self-directed Personal Project in their final years of the programme.

The school prepares students for graduation and subsequent transition to CEGEP. Through the IB Middle Years Programme, students are encouraged to become lifelong learners who possess the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to participate actively in a global society. Registration for students currently attending a Lester B. Pearson School Board (LBPSB) school is managed through their elementary school. Families from outside the LBPSB must contact the school office directly to initiate the registration process. Required documentation includes the child's original long-form birth certificate, proof of Quebec residency, the child's Medicare card, and an original Certificate of Eligibility.

The school year typically begins in late August. Key dates for prospective students include an IB Information Evening in September, an Open House in October, and an IB Enrichment Exam held in November for both LBPSB and non-LBPSB students. Term reports are issued periodically throughout the academic year via the Mozaïk portal.

The campus is located at 111 Broadview Avenue in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. On-site facilities include a library learning commons, science laboratories, and dedicated spaces for arts instruction, including drama and music. The school also provides a cafeteria service.

The school maintains an athletics department and a student council. Students also engage in service-based learning through the "Service as Action" program, which is a core component of the IB Middle Years Programme. Additionally, students participate in a mandatory Personal Project, which involves independent research and the creation of a product or outcome under the supervision of a mentor.
