Teaching approach

The mission of Uplift Education is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower students to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace. The network aims to inspire a life-long love of learning, achievement, and service, fostering an environment where students are encouraged to think critically, solve problems, and develop a global mindset. The school culture emphasizes character development, empathy, and the creation of a stable, supportive community for every scholar.

Programmes

Uplift Education utilizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The academic pathway includes the Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades K-5, the Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6-10, and the Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11-12. The curriculum covers core subjects including language and literature, language acquisition (French, Spanish, or Mandarin), mathematics, sciences, individuals and societies, arts, and physical education, with additional career-technical education (CTE) pathways available at specific locations like the Heights Healthcare Institute.

Outcomes

Since its first graduating class in 2002, 100% of Uplift Education graduates have been accepted to college. The network reports an 85% college matriculation rate, with 75% of students being first-generation college attendees. Graduates who earn an IB Diploma benefit from guaranteed college credit at Texas public universities and demonstrate a higher college graduation rate compared to the national average.

About the campus

The network operates 20 campuses across six cities in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex, including facilities in Dallas, Fort Worth, Irving, Arlington, Grand Prairie, and DeSoto. Campuses are designed with safety as a priority, featuring gated and fenced perimeters, security cameras, locked lobbies with electronic access, and locked classroom doors. Each campus is supported by a main office, cafeteria services, and, in some cases, specialized spaces like the Heights Healthcare Institute.

Co-curriculars

Students have access to a variety of extracurricular activities designed to build social skills and explore personal interests. Offerings vary by campus and year but typically include sports teams—such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, track, and flag football—as well as clubs like art, chess, media, and specialized interest groups like "Bio Bosses." Additionally, students participate in network-wide events such as the annual IB Showcase to present year-end projects.
