Uplift Education is the largest free public charter school network in North Texas, serving over 23,000 students in pre-kindergarten through 12th grade. The network utilizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) curriculum across its 20 campuses to prepare students for college and career success.

Teaching approach

The mission of Uplift Education is to create and sustain public schools of excellence that empower students to reach their highest potential in college and the global marketplace. The network aims to inspire a life-long love of learning, achievement, and service, fostering an environment where students develop into confident, caring leaders who can positively change their world.

Programmes

Uplift Education utilizes the International Baccalaureate (IB) framework for all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The Primary Years Programme (PYP) for grades K-5 focuses on interdisciplinary themes like "Sharing the Planet" and "How the World Works," covering language, social studies, mathematics, science, arts, and physical education. The Middle Years Programme (MYP) for grades 6-10 bridges foundational learning with the Diploma Programme, offering subjects such as language and literature, language acquisition (French, Spanish, or Mandarin), individuals and societies, sciences, mathematics, arts, physical health education, and design. The Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11-12 provides college-level coursework, including the DP Core (Theory of Knowledge, Extended Essay, and Creativity, Activity, Service), preparing students for higher education and career paths through the Road to College & Career program.

Outcomes

Uplift Education has achieved a 100% college acceptance rate for its graduates since 2002, with 85% college matriculation and 75% of graduates being first-generation college students. Students earning an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma benefit from guaranteed college credit at Texas public universities and higher college graduation rates compared to non-IB peers. High schools within the network have received national recognition, including rankings among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
